There is a popular children’s song that begins…

When Santa got stuck up the chimney,
He began to shout.
You girls and boys, won’t get any toys,
If you don’t pull me out.

But what happens when Santa gets stuck in a gum tree?

He flew too low, and Ho! Ho! Ho! got snagged on the branch of a tree.

While the reindeer and sleigh land safely, there aren’t any children to help out so how is he going to be rescued? Luckily, it’s not long before a group of familiar Australian animals gather to help, and each has a go but it proves a task too hard.

Is Santa destined to stay stuck forever – or will teamwork prevail?

With its clever rhyming text and hilarious illustrations, this is a uniquely Australian story that is going to appeal to all ages!

Praise for the Book

"The illustrations tell much more of Santa’s dilemma than the words alone do, which totally adds to the fun of the story. Varied visual perspectives and delightful renderings of well-known favourite Australian animals, make this the perfect Christmas gift for small people" - Kids' Book Review.

"Written in rhyming couplets, it is fun to read aloud. Young readers are likely to enjoy the rhythm of the story and may anticipate the end rhymes. Pleasingly, a smattering of new vocabulary is also introduced, such as ‘askew’, ‘scuttled’, ‘grimaced’, ‘sheepishly’ and ‘defeated’" - The Children's Book Council of Australia.
